Mercy Hands and UNDP provide youth vocational training in Kirkuk

KIRKUK, January 7– Mercy Hands Organization, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has inaugurated a vocational training program in Kirkuk, welcoming 200 young boys and girls, with a distinct focus on 23 girls eager to learn carpentry.

Structured as a 40-day initiative, the course encompasses diverse skill sets, including electricity, blacksmithing, aluminum work, carpentry, painting, design, and decoration, catering to the varied ethnic groups in Kirkuk.

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a recognized job certificate, as confirmed by the project manager. This certification, in turn, empowers participants to apply for a modest loan ranging from six to 50 million dinars through the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
