Regional disparities in private generator fees for electricity supply

DUHOK, January 3 — Duhok governate leads in charging the highest fees for users of private generators, imposing a rate of 19,000 dinars per ampere, while Erbil records the lowest fee at 13,000 dinars. The rates were recorded for the cost of electricity supply to private generators during December.

According to data provided by authorities, the fee for one ampere from private generators across the Kurdistan Region are as follow:

– Sulaymaniyah: 13,500 to 14,500 dinars
– Duhok: fixed at 19,000 dinars
– Halabja: 14,500 to 15,500 dinars
– Erbil: 13,000 to 15,000 dinars

In contrast, the price for one ampere of electricity in Kirkuk fluctuates between 4,500 and 9,500 dinars.
