Akre welcomes new year with ten newborns

AKRE, January 1– As the clock struck midnight in Duhok’s Akre district, nine women admitted to the Women’s and Maternity Hospital, collectively giving birth to ten babies.

The inaugural childbirth of 2024 in Akre unfolded at 12:15 a.m., featuring a woman who gave birth to twin daughters.

Nechirvan Harki, the head of health information in Akre, told 964media that these New Year’s eve deliveries comprised six girls and four boys. All infants were reported to be in good health, and the births proceeded smoothly as scheduled.
