Anbar criminal court sentences drug trafficker to 15 years in prison

ANBAR, December 26 — The Anbar Criminal Court issued a verdict on Tuesday, sentencing a drug dealer to 15 years in prison for trafficking narcotics.

A statement from the judiciary’s press office read:

The Anbar Criminal Court has issued a 15-year prison sentence against a drug dealer for trafficking narcotics. The Supreme Judicial Council’s Media Center reported that ‘the convict was caught in possession of two hundred thousand narcotic pills of the amphetamine substance with the intent to traffic and sell them among users.’ The verdict was based on the provisions of Article 28, Paragraph 1, of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017.
