Al-Rafidain Bank announces debt relief for martyrs and wounded

BAGHDAD, December 10 — The Board of Directors of Al-Rafidain Bank decided on Sunday to extinguish the debts of both martyrs and the wounded, in accordance with the percentages and mechanisms outlined in Law No. 81 of 2017 and related resolutions.

A statement from the bank received by Network 964 reads:

“In celebration of the great Victory Day over the terrorist gangs of ISIS and in recognition of the sacrifices made by the martyrs, their heroic feats of courage and steadfastness in defending the land, honor, and sanctities, as well as in acknowledgment of the sacrifices of the wounded on the battlefields and their honorable positions.

Based on the directives of the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, the Board of Directors of Al-Rafidain Bank decided to proceed with the procedures for extinguishing the debts for both martyrs and the wounded, in accordance with the percentages and mechanisms stipulated in Law No. 81 of 2017 and related resolutions. The relevant departments were instructed to communicate with the Martyrs Foundation to provide them with the names and lists of those included in the debt relief and to begin implementing the decision in accordance with the administrative and financial powers outlined by the laws.”
