Qatar’s Talal Al-Balooshi slated to coach FC Zakho

ZAKHO, July 31 – The president of Zakho Football Club, Ammar Farhad, announced on Sunday that the club had reached a preliminary agreement with Qatari coach Talal Al-Balooshi to lead the team in the upcoming Iraqi Premier League season.

Zakho FC failed to re-sign previous coach Nizar Mahrous at the end of the previous season due to a salary dispute.

Farhad told 964: “We have reached an agreement with Talal Al-Balooshi, and he will arrive in Zakho soon to sign the contract.”

“Talal Al-Balooshi is a young coach with good capabilities, and a skilled match analyst. He is known for his work as an analyst on well-known sports channels, and this is expected to greatly improve Zakho FC’s performance.”

Al-Blooshi will become the first Qatari coach to work in the Iraqi Premier League. He previously worked with the coaching staff of Qatar’s Al-Shamal, had training experience with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shabab, and also had an internship with Spain’s Villarreal.
