Kurdish book fair in Sulaymaniyah runs to Friday
SULAYMANIYAH — A Kurdish-language book fair at Family Mall in Sulaymaniyah has five days left to run, with more than 10,000 titles on sale from over 45 publishers, printers and distributors from the Kurdistan Region and Iranian Kurdistan.
The titles span philosophy, literature, science and religion, said Rawaz Hama Salih, who supervises the fair. Publishers are offering reductions of up to 25%, and some are giving books away. “Good discounts have been applied to prices, and a number of publishers have been generous, offering books as gifts,” he said.
The fair opened on Aug. 13 and closes on Aug. 22, open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Organisers said the late hours let people come in the cooler part of the day, with Sulaymaniyah above 40°C through the summer.
