Aid shipments to Gaza continue
Chief of staff oversees departure of fifth batch of medical aid to Gaza on Iraqi Air Force planes
BAGHDAD, November 28 — Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, oversaw the departure of Iraqi Air Force planes loaded with a fifth batch of medical aid for Gaza on Monday.
The Ministry of Defense issued a statement in which it said:
In line with the directives of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yarallah supervised the transfer of the fifth batch of medical aid, weighing 20 tons, through C-130 aircraft from the Martyr Mohammed Alaa Air Base. The aid is destined for El Arish Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt, where it will be handed over to the Palestinian people in Gaza under the supervision of the Iraqi Red Crescent, in coordination with its Egyptian counterpart. Additional successive shipments of food and medical supplies are planned as part of the ongoing air bridge to deliver aid, following the Prime Minister’s directives. Lieutenant General Yarallah was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, the Ground Force Commander, the Director of Military Intelligence, the Secretary of Military Intelligence at the General Staff, and a representative from the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
