Health minister says no key documents damaged in ministry fire

BAGHDAD– Health Minister Abdul Hussein al-Mousawi visited the site of a fire that broke out in one of the Ministry of Health’s floors overnight, the ministry said Wednesday, as authorities continue investigating the cause of the incident.

According to a ministry statement issued today, al-Mousawi inspected the affected area and reviewed ongoing investigative measures aimed at determining how the fire started.

The minister said no important documents or contracts were damaged in the incident.

Al-Mousawi said the ministry maintains both electronic and paper records of all key documents and contracts, with copies also kept at the Ministries of Health and Planning.

The ministry did not provide further details on the cause of the fire or the extent of damage to the affected floor.
