Diwaniyah opens international book fair with publishers from Egypt, Jordan and Iraq
DIWANIYAH — The Diwaniyah Directorate of Youth and Sports opened an international book fair on Sunday featuring publishers from Egypt, Jordan and Iraq and offering more than 10,000 titles across a range of fields.
Saad al-Muhanna, director of the directorate, told the Iraqi News Agency that the fair opened at the Women’s Forum Hall with the participation of Arab and Iraqi publishing houses and attendance by government officials and academics. Visitors can browse titles covering law, administration, engineering, sports, history, psychology, artificial intelligence, science and other disciplines. The exhibition runs for seven days.
The fair follows the Iraq International Book Fair, which wrapped up a 10-day run in Baghdad on December 13, 2025, with more than 450 Arab and international publishing houses taking part and hundreds of new releases for 2025 on display.
