Temperatures to fall across Iraq this week with dust and mountain rain expected
BAGHDAD — Temperatures will decline across Iraq this week, with light rain expected in northern mountainous areas and moderate dust activity in several regions, the Meteorological Authority said Monday.
Tuesday will be partly cloudy, with cloudy conditions and chances of light rain over northern mountain heights. Northwesterly winds will cause moderate dust in scattered areas. Highs will range from 25°C in Duhok and Sulaymaniyah to 38°C in Basra, with Baghdad reaching 33°C. Visibility will be 6–8 km, dropping to 5–7 km in dusty conditions.
Wednesday will remain partly cloudy with temperatures similar to Tuesday’s levels.
Thursday will be mostly clear with some cloud, with mountainous areas in the north staying cloudy and seeing another chance of light rain. Temperatures will remain steady in central Iraq and rise slightly in northern and southern areas.
Friday will be mostly clear with some cloud cover and temperatures close to Thursday’s levels nationwide.
