PMF says airstrikes hit positions in Nineveh and Tuz Khurmatu

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces said Monday that two of its positions were targeted in what it described as a “U.S.-Israeli aggression,” with no reported casualties.

In a statement, the PMF said its units were subjected early Monday to an air attack that struck two sites simultaneously.

The statement said the first strike occurred at 2:38 a.m., targeting the intelligence headquarters of the 25th Brigade within Nineveh Operations Command in the Hatra sector.

It added that a second attack took place at 3:00 a.m., targeting the 4th Regiment of the 52nd Brigade under the North and East Tigris Operations Command, with four airstrikes hitting its position at Haliyah Airport in Tuz Khurmatu district.

The PMF said the strikes did not result in any casualties.

Recent strikes have targeted PMF positions in western Iraq. On April 4, an airstrike near the Al-Qaim border crossing in Anbar governorate killed one PMF fighter and wounded four others, along with a Ministry of Defense member, according to the PMF, which described the incident as a joint U.S.-Israeli attack. Earlier that week, two fighters were killed and four wounded in a strike in Rutba district, while consecutive strikes on Habbaniyah base killed 22 military personnel over two days, including the PMF Anbar operations commander. The PMF has said its positions have been hit across seven governorates since Feb. 28, resulting in dozens of fatalities.
