Rain and thunder to continue in central and northern Iraq on Friday, south to clear
BAGHDAD — Central and northern Iraq will see continued cloud cover and light to moderate rainfall Friday, with thunder and lightning in eastern areas, while the south clears to partly cloudy skies, the General Authority for Meteorology said.
Conditions are expected to stabilize during the evening as rainfall shifts toward eastern parts of the country. Temperatures will remain similar to Thursday in central and southern regions, rising in the west and dipping slightly in the north. Northwesterly winds will reach 20 to 30 km/h, gusting to 45 km/h at times and causing moderate dust in parts of central and southern Iraq. Visibility will range between five and seven kilometers, dropping to four to six in areas of heavy rain or dust.
