Temperatures to drop as rain, thunderstorms and hail continue across Iraq

BAGHDAD — Unstable weather will persist across Iraq into Monday, with the General Authority for Meteorology forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and hail in northern areas as temperatures continue to fall.

The authority attributed the conditions to a moist surface low-pressure system combined with a cold upper air mass. Monday will see cloudy skies and moderate to heavy rain nationwide, with thunderstorms in multiple areas and winds gusting to 40 km/h. Conditions will be cold during mornings and nights. Visibility will range between six and eight kilometers, dropping to three to five in areas of heavy rainfall.
