Drone falls in residential area of Soran with at least one person wounded

SORAN — A loud explosion was heard Thursday night in Soran district in Erbil governorate after a drone fell in a residential area, wounding one woman with minor injuries that did not require hospitalization, a security source told 964media. A nearby vehicle was also damaged.

The incident came as explosions were reported elsewhere in Erbil governorate the same evening. A large explosion struck a base belonging to the Organization of Iranian Kurdistan Struggle in the Rizgari subdistrict, and further explosions were heard in Koya targeting Azadi Camp.

Erbil has been targeted by more than 100 missiles and drones since the war between the United States, Israel and Iran began Feb. 28, with attacks increasingly affecting civilian and residential areas.
