Rain, cooler temperatures expected across Iraq this week
BAGHDAD — Iraq will see unsettled weather this week, with chances of rain, lower temperatures and varying wind activity across several governorates, the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismology said Saturday.
Conditions will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with rainfall of varying intensity accompanied at times by thunderstorms and lightning.

Winds will be south to southeasterly at 20 to 30 kilometers per hour, becoming more active and reaching up to 50 kilometers per hour in eastern parts of the country. Visibility is expected at 8 to 10 kilometers, dropping to 4 to 6 kilometers during rainfall.
Sunday and Monday will be partly cloudy to cloudy in central and southern regions, with rain expected in northern areas and over mountainous terrain. Winds will shift between light and moderate, with temperatures rising slightly before stabilizing.
Tuesday and Wednesday will remain variable, with periods of clouds and chances of light rain in northern governorates, while central and southern regions may see clearer conditions at times.
