Duhok Health Directorate announces holiday plan and medical guidelines
DUHOK — The Duhok General Health Directorate announced its plan and readiness for the official New Year holiday period, outlining several health guidelines and confirming that hospitals will remain operational.
The directorate informed residents that all hospitals and health institutions in the governorate will continue providing medical services throughout the official holiday period announced by the Kurdistan Regional Government, from December 25, 2025, to January 3, 2026.
According to the announcement, all emergency departments will remain open around the clock, and hospital services will continue on a shift basis.
Outpatient consultation clinics will also be open. Ambulance teams and the 122 emergency hotline will function 24 hours a day, and medical supply and pharmacy departments will open when necessary.
Health inspection and monitoring teams will continue their regular field duties.
The Duhok Health Directorate reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted medical services and full emergency readiness throughout the holiday period.
Meanwhile, Erbil Gov. Omed Khoshnaw said Tuesday that preparations for New Year celebrations are complete across administrative, security and tourism sectors, and officials expect higher tourist arrivals, especially from central and southern Iraq.
Iraq’s Interior Ministry today announced details of its security plan for Christmas and New Year celebrations, saying violations will be met with strict legal measures and stressing the plan does not include traffic closures.
