Anbar Health Department ends cash payments, shifts to electronic system

ANBAR — The Anbar Health Department has officially ended the use of cash transactions across all its health institutions, implementing an electronic payment system as mandated by Iraq’s Ministry of Health and the Prime Minister’s Office.

According to an official directive, the department began enforcing the change on Monday, in line with a national strategy led by the Central Bank of Iraq to regulate financial collection.

A copy of the directive stated: “Based on the Ministry of Health’s letter… which included the preparation of an integrated plan to end cash transactions and fully shift to electronic payment, it has been decided to terminate the cash collection system and fully adopt the electronic payment system.”

The decision applies to all health service fees and charges within the governorate’s medical facilities.
