Counter-terror agency arrests new ISIS leader for transporting fighters

SALAH Al-DIN, November 7 — The Counter-Terrorism Agency announced on Tuesday the arrest of a newly appointed ISIS leader involved in transporting fighters between Iraq and neighboring countries.

In a statement received by 964, the agency said:

In a heroic operation by the heroes of the Counter-Terrorism Agency and after setting up a well-prepared ambush based on precise intelligence in Salah Al-Din Governorate’s Tikrit city, the agency’s operatives succeeded in arresting one of the leaders of the terrorist ISIS gang.

The aforementioned terrorist was previously operating in Nineveh Governorate, and was currently working as a transporter for ISIS terrorist gangs between Iraq and one neighboring country. He renewed his allegiance to the terrorist organization in 2023.

The high-level targeted operations carried out by our heroes have nearly paralyzed the movement of the organization in the areas where it might consider establishing a presence or attempting to gain media attention.
