Temperatures across Iraq drop further as dust levels rise
BAGHDAD– Iraq’s Meteorological Authority reported on Thursday that weather across the country will see a slight drop in temperatures along with rising dust in some areas.
The authority said central and southern regions will remain hot and clear during the day, while northern areas will experience milder conditions with scattered clouds.
Temperatures in the central and southern regions are expected to fall by one to two degrees Celsius compared with Wednesday.
Northwesterly winds will range from light to moderate at 10–20 km/h, strengthening during the daytime in southern areas and eastern parts of the central region, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h. The winds may cause dust and sand to rise, especially in desert areas, before weakening gradually in the evening and overnight.
Visibility in dusty areas will decline to between 4–6 kilometers before improving later in the day.
