Gradual drop in temperatures forecast for Iraq this week

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s meteorological authority said Monday that temperatures are expected to gradually decline in the coming days, with clear skies and moderate winds across most regions.

The agency said Tuesday’s weather will be similar to Monday’s, with highs of 38 degrees Celsius in Sulaymaniyah and Duhok, 40 in Erbil, 41 in Nineveh and Anbar, 42 in Kirkuk, 43 in Salahaddin, 44 in Baghdad and Diyala, 45 in Karbala, Babil and Wasit, 46 in Najaf, Diwaniyah, Muthanna and Dhi Qar, and 47 in Maysan and Basra.

Conditions on Wednesday and Thursday are expected to remain stable, with temperatures close to Tuesday’s levels nationwide.

By Friday, the forecast indicates clear skies across the country with scattered clouds in parts of the south, along with a slight drop in temperatures.
