Over 50 participants join Fallujah bazaar promoting crafts and small businesses
ANBAR — More than 50 young men and women took part in a charity bazaar in Fallujah, Anbar Governorate, promoting handmade goods and women-led projects, alongside efforts to strengthen participants’ presence in the local market. The event featured sewing, cosmetics production, accessories, and book displays, adding a cultural element that drew wide engagement from city residents.
Organized by the Rahab Al-Khair Organization for Relief and Human Rights, in coordination with Anbar Governorate’s Department of Organizations, the bazaar aimed to provide economic support to small business owners and expand their work.
“We noticed strong participation from women, especially those working in sewing and cosmetics,” said event organizer Mohammed Sabah Hamid. “We have previously supported more than 20 women with financial assistance of up to $2,000 each to help them develop their projects and achieve financial independence.”
Participant Asia Khalid, who makes handcrafted accessories with personalized engravings, said she started her project in 2015 through social media. “It was a good opportunity to engage with a wide audience, especially women. Such events highlight women’s talents and offer real opportunities for growth and independence,” she said, adding that such events serve as a platform for unemployed women working in knitting, and home-based food production.
