WASIT — A police officer in Wasit was sentenced to two years in prison for blackmailing a female parliamentary candidate, a judicial source told 964media on Wednesday.
The officer had threatened to publish private photos and videos of the candidate on social media unless she paid 1 billion Iraqi dinars (approximately $708,500), the source said. The court found him guilty and handed down the sentence.
