Project to include a hotel and training area

Turkish company signs $40 Million contract to complete olympic stadium in Nasiriyah

BAGHDAD, October 24 — Turkish company, Urcu, has announced that it signed a $40 million contract with the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports to complete the Olympic stadium in Nasiriyah.

This comes after a French company ceased work on the project, 10 years after its initial signing, due to project delays and insufficient financial allocations.

According to a statement from the company, construction on the stadium will be completed within two years at a total cost of $40 million.

The stadium will also have seating capacity for 30,000 spectators and will include a 75-room hotel and training fields.

“This project is the start of new investments for the Turkish company in Iraq, leveraging their extensive experience in the Iraqi market,” the statement said.
