Dust and cooler air mass sweep western Iraq as temperatures dip slightly
BAGHDAD — Clear skies and sunny weather are expected across Iraq on Monday, with a moderate air mass bringing dust and a slight drop in temperatures in most areas, according to the national meteorological authority.
Western and northwestern parts of the country are currently affected by a moderate-temperature air mass accompanied by moderate to heavy dust, the forecast said. Temperatures in southern Iraq remain stable, but a decrease of 3 to 4 degrees Celsius is expected elsewhere compared to the previous day.
Daytime conditions will remain hot overall, with relatively milder weather in the early morning and evening.
Winds are expected to blow from the northwest at light to moderate speeds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. In eastern areas, gusts may reach up to 45 kilometers per hour, helping disperse accumulated dust.
Horizontal visibility is expected to range between 3 and 5 kilometers in most regions but may drop to as low as 1 to 3 kilometers in the west due to elevated dust levels.
