SULAYMANIYAH — Two brothers, ages 7 and 9, died Monday in a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a cargo vehicle in the Maydan subdistrict of the Garmian autonomous administration, local officials said.

The victims, both students, were riding the motorcycle at the time of the crash, according to Khalid Abdulkarim, head of the Maydan health center. “The two brothers were students, aged 7 and 9, and the accident happened while they were returning from school,” he said.
The Garmian Traffic Directorate said part of the vehicle involved in the collision caught fire, though it did not provide further details on the cause.
