Iraq’s Al-Sudani, Egypt’s El-Sisi discuss economic cooperation and Gaza in phone call

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani spoke by phone Tuesday with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss strengthening economic and development cooperation, according to a statement from Al-Sudani’s media office.

They also addressed regional issues, stressing “the importance of concerted efforts to halt the aggression against Gaza,” and supporting “dialogue initiatives aimed at promoting regional security and stability,” the statement said.

On Tuesday, PM Al-Sudani also held a phone call with Jorden’s King Abdullah II to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments, including the situation in Gaza and preparations for the upcoming Arab League Summit.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani held a telephone discussion today, Tuesday, with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The conversation addressed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and advance joint cooperation by activating memoranda of understanding and agreements across economic, investment, and development sectors.

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional developments and issues of mutual concern. They emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to halt the aggression against Gaza and to support dialogue initiatives aimed at promoting regional security and stability.
