Al-Sudani, Joran’s King Abdullah II discuss Gaza, Arab Summit

BAGHDAD — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani held a phone call Tuesday with King Abdullah II of Jordan to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments, including the situation in Gaza and preparations for the upcoming Arab League Summit.

According to statements from both offices, the leaders reviewed the strong ties between Iraq and Jordan and explored ways to expand cooperation across various fields. Al-Sudani and King Abdullah emphasized the importance of continued coordination on issues of mutual interest to serve the interests of both countries and support broader Arab causes.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani held a phone call today, Tuesday, with His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The discussions focused on bilateral relations as well as the latest regional and international developments.

The discussions included a review of relations between the two countries across various fields and explored ways to further strengthen cooperation at all levels.

The two leaders emphasized the need to halt the aggression against Gaza, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, uphold the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, and coordinate efforts with all countries to enhance security and stability throughout the region.

His Majesty King Abdullah II received a phone call on Tuesday from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, during which the close bilateral relations were discussed.

His Majesty reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Iraq’s efforts in hosting the 34th regular session of the Arab League Summit next month.

The King also stressed the importance of expanding cooperation with Iraq and maintaining coordination on various issues of mutual interest in a way that serves the interests of both countries and supports Arab causes.

The call also addressed efforts to end the war in Gaza, resume the entry of humanitarian aid, de-escalate tensions in the West Bank, and work toward a comprehensive regional truce, in addition to reviewing the broader situation in the region.
