Continued medical services

Kurdistan Region’s health ministry issues Eid Al-Fitr readiness plan

ERBIL — The Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Health on Thursday unveiled its preparations for Eid Al-Fitr, instructing directorates across governorates and autonomous administrations to maintain healthcare services throughout the holiday.

According to a ministry statement, emergency hospitals and medical centers will remain open, with ambulance services on standby and fuel supplies secured. Inspections will continue, while specialized clinics for chemical treatments and dialysis are required to remain operational.

Mobile health teams will monitor communicable diseases, assess household water supplies, and provide services in tourist areas and displacement camps.

The first day of Eid is anticipated to be either Sunday or Monday, depending on the moon’s visibility. Eid Al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, during which Muslims fast daily from dawn until sunset.
