Car crash kills woman in Amedi’s Siri residential complex

DUHOK — A woman in her 60s died Saturday night after being struck by a car in the Siri residential complex in the Sheladize sub-district of Amedi, according to local health officials.

The incident took place around 10:45 p.m. as the woman was crossing the street. She was transported to Amedi General Hospital with severe injuries.

“Tonight, an elderly woman was brought to Amedi Emergency Hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries, she passed away shortly after arrival,” said Masoud Boti, deputy director of Amedi Health, speaking to 964media.

Her body was transferred to Amedi’s forensic medical unit for examination.
