Three-year-old child killed in Bardarash traffic incident
DUHOK — A three-year-old child was struck and killed by a vehicle in the Bshirian community of Bardarash district, Duhok governorate, local sources reported Saturday.
The fatal incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. when the child, identified as Liver Ibrahim, was hit by a car and died at the scene.
Hikmat Ahmed, the child’s uncle, told 964media, “I was at work when I got a phone call. By the time I reached the hospital, she had already passed away.” He said the child sustained severe head and chest injuries that made saving her impossible.
It comes after health officials reported two separate car crashes on Friday that left 12 people injured in Duhok and Sulaymaniyah governorates. The first accident occurred on the Bardarash-Daratoo road in Duhok involving passenger vehicles, with all passengers sustaining serious injuries. A second collision on the Arbat-Qaradagh road near the village of Dararash in Sulaymaniyah governorate injured four people.
