Taxi crash on Derabun road in Zakho claims life amid multiple accidents
ZAKHO — A 58-year-old taxi driver lost control of his vehicle on the Derabun road leading to Zakho in Duhok Governorate and died at the scene, local health officials confirmed.
The crash occurred at midday Monday. The driver, identified as Hozni Haji Hameed, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Zakho Emergency Hospital, but doctors were unable to save him.
Zakho Health Directorate spokesperson Amir Ali told 964media, “Unfortunately, the doctors could not do anything, as he had already passed away by the time he arrived at the hospital. His body has been transferred to forensic medicine.”
Earlier Monday, another collision on the Kalar-Khanaqin road left two people injured, and a separate incident in Darbandikhan, Sulaymaniyah, resulted in one death.
