Sulaymaniyah ambulance driver fatally shot
SULAYMANIYAH — A man was shot and killed Sunday evening on Sarchnar Street in Sulaymaniyah, officials confirmed.
Saman Nader, head of the Sulaymaniyah Emergency Rescue Center, told 964media, “The victim was shot by another individual and died at the scene.” Authorities identified the victim as Jasim Karim, a 44-year-old ambulance driver at the center.
Nader said the shooting stemmed from a family dispute. “After separating from his wife some time ago, tensions arose between the two sides. Although reconciliation was attempted yesterday, this evening, a brother of his wife shot him, resulting in his death at the scene.”
Emergency responders transported the victim to the city hospital in an attempt to revive him, but their efforts were unsuccessful. “After forensic medical procedures, the body was handed over to his relatives and taken to the Bakrajow cemetery for burial,” Nader said.
