Iraqi, Lebanese PMs discuss bilateral ties, regional developments in phone call
BAGHDAD – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani spoke via a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments, according to a statement from Al-Sudani’s media office.
Al-Sudani expressed his “sincere wishes” for Salam’s success in his new role and reaffirmed Iraq’s support for Lebanon, particularly in providing fuel. Salam emphasized his government’s commitment to strengthening ties with Iraq in various sectors and highlighted “the importance of joint efforts to promote security and stability in the region.”

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani received a phone call today, Wednesday, from the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Mr. Nawaf Salam. The conversation focused on strengthening bilateral relations and reviewing the latest developments in the region.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his sincere wishes for Mr. Salam’s success in his new role, reaffirming Iraq’s continued support for the Lebanese people, particularly in providing fuel, in accordance with the decisions of the Council of Ministers aimed at supporting Lebanon’s resilience and enhancing its capabilities in facing various challenges.
For his part, Prime Minister Salam emphasized his government’s commitment to strengthening relations with Iraq across various sectors, underscoring the importance of joint efforts to promote security and stability in the region.
