Crash in Ranya kills one, injures two

RANYA – A collision between two non-registered motorcycles in Ranya, located in Sulaymaniyah’s Raparin Administration, resulted in one death and injuries to two others, local traffic authorities said.

Ali Ismail, spokesperson for the Raparin Traffic Directorate, told 964media that the crash occurred around 11:00 p.m. Monday near the maternity hospital in Ranya. “One of the motorcyclists lost his life, while two people on the second motorcycle were injured,” Ismail said.

It remains unclear whether the deceased and the injured were residents of Ranya or visitors from outside the area. However, Ismail confirmed that all three were male and between 20 and 25 years old.

The injured and the deceased were taken to Ranya Hospital, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
