Iraq condemns Munich vehicle attack, expresses solidarity with Germany

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attack that took place Thursday in Munich, Germany, injuring several civilians, an official statement said.

In the statement, the ministry declared, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its strong condemnation of the tragic vehicle attack that occurred today in the city of Munich, Germany, which resulted in injuries to a number of civilians.”

The statement reaffirmed Iraq’s full solidarity with the government and people of Germany, calling the incident a criminal act.

“The Iraqi government firmly rejects violence and terrorism in all its forms,” the statement continued, adding that Iraq extends its best wishes for a swift recovery to those injured in the attack.”
