Concrete collapse kills worker, injures another in Duhok’s Semel
DUHOK — A concrete collapse at an unfinished building in Duhok’s Semel district killed one worker and injured another, a health official said Sunday.
The incident occurred at 5:45 p.m. Haysam Barbhari, spokesperson for Duhok’s 122 Emergency Health Center, told 964media that, “The collapse of 10 concrete pieces at an unfinished hall in Semel district trapped two workers underneath.”
Barbhari said one worker, a 30-year-old man, died at the scene, while the other, a 20-year-old, sustained head and leg fractures. The workers are reportedly Syrian Kurds.
The injured worker was transported to Azadi Emergency Hospital and remains under medical supervision. No additional injuries were reported.
