KRG PM Masrour Barzani meets with Turkish president and foreign minister in Ankara

NEWSROOM — Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara on Tuesday to discuss regional developments and “ways to deepen trade and investment ties”.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Barzani stated, “I am pleased to meet with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, in Ankara today. We discussed ways to promote dialogue and a common understanding to navigate through the developments in the Middle East, including in Syria.”

Barzani also met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, where discussions focused on regional issues and economic cooperation. In another post on X, Barzani said, “Today in Ankara, I met with FM Hakan Fidan. We exchanged views on recent developments in Iraq, Syria and beyond, and ways to deepen trade and investment ties between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Türkiye, including in energy.”
