Iraqi PM Al-Sudani receives invitation to visit Japan
BAGHDAD — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received Japan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Iraq, Akira Endo, in Baghdad on Sunday. During their meeting, Ambassador Endo delivered an official invitation from the Japanese Prime Minister for Al-Sudani to visit Tokyo.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his wishes for the ambassador’s success in his role and emphasized Iraq’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and fostering partnerships with Japan across various developmental sectors, according to a statement from his media office.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed the newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Akira Endo, marking the commencement of his diplomatic mission.
During the meeting, His Excellency received an official invitation from the Japanese Prime Minister to visit Tokyo, delivered by the ambassador. The Prime Minister wished the ambassador success in his mission, emphasizing Iraq’s eagerness to strengthen bilateral cooperation and constructive partnerships in various fields of development for the benefit of the peoples of Iraq and Japan.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani also highlighted the significant role Japan can play as an active member of the international community, particularly in efforts to halt aggression in Gaza, support stability in Lebanon, and provide relief to the Palestinian people, who are facing systematic genocide. Additionally, he stressed Japan’s potential contribution to preventing the escalation of conflict in the Middle East and reinforcing efforts toward stability and peace.
