Pshdar school publishes magazine to encourage reading and writing

PSHDAR — A secondary school in Pshdar area, Sulaymaniyah, has launched a magazine featuring contributions from students and teachers, aiming to promote reading and writing.

Karwan Hussein, principal of Hazhin High School, told 964media that the magazine, titled Penusekany Hazhin, or Pens of Hazhin in English, has now released its second issue.

“The magazine is educational and cultural, published annually, and supervised by a team of teachers. At 86 pages long, it includes over 43 short articles written by both teachers and students,” Hussein said.

He explained that the publication features contributions from students in both literary and scientific fields, covering a variety of topics, with a particular focus on educational and psychological subjects, Kurdish language and science.

“Our goal with this magazine is to further inspire students to read and write,” Hussein added.

Hazhin High School was established in 2021 in Qaladze district and currently has over 310 students enrolled.
