Body of missing taxi driver found in trunk of taxi

SULAYMANIYAH – After two days of searching, the body of Omed Ali, a 45-year-old man who had gone missing in Sulaymaniyah was discovered in the trunk of his taxi in the city’s suburbs this evening.

A relative of the deceased told 964media outside the Sulaymaniyah Forensic Medicine Department that the man had no known disputes with anyone. Security forces are still working to determine the motive behind his death.

“He used to work for Asayish [security forces] but resigned voluntarily and had been working as a taxi driver,” the relative said.

The body was found in the trunk of his taxi along the Sulaymaniyah-Arbat road. “There were four gunshot wounds to his body. He was a family man, married with three children, and had no personal conflicts with anyone,” the relative added.

The family emphasized that they have filed an official complaint and urged security forces to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
