Plastic and wood workshop catches fire in Akre

AKRE — A large fire broke out at a plastic and wood workshop in Duhok’s Akre district on Thursday afternoon, causing significant material damage but no casualties.

Ibrahim Fariq, the head of Akre Civil Defense, told 964media that, “The fire was contained by five firefighting teams after it engulfed the workshop.” He confirmed that the fire originated from one of the workshop’s machines and caused substantial damage to equipment and assets.

“The fire was controlled by five firefighting teams, and fortunately, there were no casualties,” Fariq said.

A committee has been formed to assess the material losses caused by the incident.
