Annual campaign
Chamchamal launches winter clothing drive for underprivileged families
CHAMCHAMAL — A clothing donation campaign has been launched in Chamchamal, Sulaymaniyah province, to provide winter clothing to families in need as temperatures begin to drop.
Chamchamal district official Ramak Ramazan told 964media, “As winter approaches, many families in our region face hardship due to limited income. In response, the Sayai Hajaran organization has resumed its annual clothing drive, aiming to alleviate these struggles.”
Now in its seventh year, the campaign supports residents lacking essential supplies. Ramazan encouraged the public to contribute any extra clothing and goods, emphasizing that every donation helps more people in the community benefit from the initiative.
The campaign, organized by Sayai Hajaran with oversight from Chamchamal’s district administration, began on Nov. 1 and will run for 20 days.
Last year, the drive gathered over 55,000 items of clothing, along with essential household supplies. In addition to clothing, the campaign provided critical household items to assist newlyweds, addressing urgent needs for two recently married couples.
