Erbil education directorate bans unauthorized media access to schools

ERBIL, September 10 — On Sunday, the Erbil Education Directorate issued a directive preventing television channels and other media outlets from entering schools and filming without prior official approval.

The directive warned central education directorates within the city and its suburbs against allowing media access to schools without obtaining prior consent from these directorates.

The decision is aimed at “preserving the sanctity of schools.” Failure to comply with the directive will result in the school director being held responsible.
