Al-Sudani receives phone call from Iranian president Raisi

BAGHDAD, September 9 — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received a phone call from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Saturday. During the call, President Raisi expressed his gratitude for Iraq’s hosting and hospitality towards the visitors participating in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, considering it a message of love and peace to the world.

In the beginning of the call, President Raisi extended his thanks to the Iraqi people and government for their care and hospitality towards the visitors participating in the Arbaeen pilgrimage. He praised the outstanding efforts made at all levels and considered them a clear indication of Iraq’s stability, its path towards national development, and the message of love and peace it conveys from Iraq to the world.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized that hosting the Arbaeen visitors and providing for their needs is an annual testament by the Iraqis to their adherence to the virtues and noble values brought by the Household of the Prophet (peace be upon them).

The call also discussed the importance of bilateral relations, their contribution to regional stability, the cultural and religious ties between the two countries, and Iraq’s capacity to facilitate and enhance understanding among regional nations.
