Development of Al-Daght Street in Baghdad improves traffic flow

BAGHDAD, September 4 — The renovation and development of Al-Daght Street, connecting the Al-I’lam and Al-Shurta Al-Rabea neighborhoods in southwest Baghdad, has transformed the street into a well-organized two-way road for the first time in decades. The project also included the installation of street lights and the planting of trees.

A source from the Projects Department at Baghdad’s Municipality stated the street rehabilitation was carried out as part of the ongoing reconstruction efforts in various areas of the capital. The Projects Department collaborated with the Municipality of Rashid and supporting entities to accomplish this development, resulting in the improved appearance of the street.

Mohammed Abdul Aoun, a resident of the area, said he was satisfied with the transformation. He described the street as previously dilapidated, full of potholes, and lacking a central median. However, today, it has become a beautiful street after undergoing reconstruction, improved lighting, and the addition of greenery.
