ERBIL – The German Goethe Institute-Iraq is participating in the 16th Erbil International Book Fair, which kicked off on April 17.

This marks the third consecutive year of participation for the esteemed German Cultural Institute, joining over 300 local and foreign publishing houses in this literary extravaganza..

Anias Boelicke, the institute’s director, expressed enthusiasm about their presence, stating to 964media, “We are always excited and amazed to be here to celebrate literature and culture for eleven days.”

Boelicke outlined the institute’s plans for the event, including music, debates, poetry readings, art displays, children’s activities, and German language classes.

“Let people start to learn German,” she said.

Regarding the fair’s theme this year, “Your Intelligence is Not Artificial,” which underscores the significance of human intelligence alongside advancements in artificial intelligence, Boelicke affirmed the influence of artificial intelligence on the arts but stressed that “there will always be a human touch in arts.”
