Iranian interior minister visits Baghdad for official talks

BAGHDAD, August 29 — Iran’s Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday for an official visit with his counterpart, Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari. The two ministers were scheduled to hold bilateral talks to discuss several matters of mutual interest.

Today, Tuesday, Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari received his Iranian counterpart, Mr. Ahmad Vahidi, and an accompanying delegation at Baghdad International Airport. Mr. al-Shammari welcomed Mr. Vahidi, emphasizing the deep fraternal relations between the two neighboring countries.

The visiting minister and his accompanying delegation will hold a meeting with their counterparts at the Ministry of Interior to discuss various matters of mutual concern.
