KDP leaders condemn Moscow terror attack

ERBIL — In the wake of the deadly terror attack on a Moscow concert hall, Kurdish leaders have publicly condemned the violence and offered their condolences to the victims’ families and the Russian people.

Masoud Barzani, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, expressed his condemnation and sorrow. “We strongly condemn last night’s terrorist attack in Moscow which targeted innocent civilians,” he stated. “I offer my condolences to the families of the victims and we share the pain of the Russian people and government.”

Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region, took to social media to denounce the attack. “I condemn in the strongest terms the barbaric attack against civilians in Moscow,” he tweeted. “My thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and the people of Russia. Terrorism is a global threat and the international community must stay united to defeat it.”

Adding to the voices of Kurdish leaders condemning the attack, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani also expressed his vehement opposition to the violence. “I strongly condemn the horrific terrorist attack in Moscow last night. My thoughts are with the injured and the families of the victims,” he stated. “We stand with the people and government of the Russian Federation in this difficult moment.”

The attack at the Crocus City Hall, has left over 100 individuals dead and more than 145 injured, marking it as one of the deadliest terrorist incidents in recent history. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the massacre, which involved a mass shooting and multiple explosions.
