Baghdad drug dealer sentenced to 10 years in prison

BAGHDAD — On Thursday, the Central Criminal Court handed down a 10-year prison sentence to a drug dealer for his involvement in narcotics trafficking within Baghdad. The conviction came after the individual was found with not only drugs but also weapons and ammunition.

The Judicial Media Center released a statement that detailed the arrest, which was based on intelligence regarding his involvement in drug trafficking. “Authorities, upon searching his residence, found 40 grams of narcotics, an electronic scale, six glass pipes, two lighters, two spoons, and various weapons and ammunition,” the statement disclosed.
